Karen Higgins, ERYT

Karen HigginsMy journey began more than 23 years ago as a teacher, trainer, and personal coach. From high energy spin, aerobic, weight, and slide classes to the serenity of the yoga mat. It is my practice of yoga that has brought me into the healthiest place of my life. Which includes my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. I have earned my ERYT 200 with Yoga Alliance, completed the Ashtanga Teacher Training with David Swenson and am currently working towards my RYT500 in “Yoga as Therapy”, under the teachings of Doug Keller.

I enjoy teaching different styles of yoga, because one style does not fit all students. Each student must find the best style and teacher for themselves.

Yoga belongs to no man, sect, or religion but to all who want to further understand themselves. May your journey of self discovery lead you to peace, joy, and happiness.

Beth Matlock RYT

Beth MatlockBeth Matlock began her yoga journey in 1997 in Los Angeles, CA after a knee injury sidelined her running and high impact workouts. After her injury, she started looking for something exciting, upbeat, and a great workout but without the high impact. A friend suggested Vinyasa yoga but when attending her first class, she left before it was over. As a competitive athlete and ‘type A’ personality, it was difficult to not be ‘perfect’ on her first try. But something clicked, and she went back. Yoga gave Beth the workout she wanted and also complemented her busy lifestyle with a form of peace and introspection.

She began teaching in 1999 and has earned her 200-hr RYT through Yoga Alliance. Beth enjoys teaching Vinyasa and is also certified in Prenatal/Postpartum Yoga. As she continues her own personal yoga journey, Beth encourages her students to grow their own practice by experiencing different yoga classes, reading and learning about the traditions of yoga, and enjoying yoga as a journey, not a destination.

Karen Bonds: Owner/RYT

Karen BondsI began practicing in 2006 at Longview Yoga Studio and immediately fell in love with yoga. I didn’t get serious about it immediately though. After the initial excitement of the practice, I realized something about my body. I had the potential for strength but less so for flexibility. The lack of flexibility temporarily burst my yoga bubble. I stopped practicing for several months. How could I practice if I would never be able to do the beautiful postures that require great flexibility? I led a life without yoga and I missed it terribly. I reached the point where I knew I had to practice ~flexible or not. I got back on the mat and let go of my desire to be something I was not. Accepting myself led me to teacher training in 2009.

I am now certified to teach Hatha Yoga and Kundalini Yoga. I am registered with Yoga Alliance as a 200 hour RYT.

Each day I am required to accept myself anew as I step onto the mat. So far, the principles of yoga and practicing the breath have allowed me to overcome the limitations imposed by my mind. Inhale. Exhale. Namaste.

Jane HenryJane has been practicing yoga since 2003. She originally tried it as just another exercise along with weight lifting, spinning and other aerobic workouts but soon came to appreciate the overwhelming benefits of a consistent practice and yoga became her primary source of exercise. She has taken teacher training with Yoga Fit and has studied Yoga Therapy under Doug Keller. Jane is currently putting her attention to learning more about Yin yoga and its many benefits.
